HDMI has become the ubiquitous method of connecting home theatre components and with the new 1.4 specification is making an effort to pack as many features as possible into a single cable. The new specification will support 100Mbps data transfers, support for 3D video and a 4,096 x 2,160 resolution. Unfortunately it's also become even more confusing as you will need a cable that supports the 1.4 standard to get these features and the cables will come in two different tiers of quality. Oh well, who needs 3D anyways?
