Conclusion
The LT-42WX70 is an expensive TV, however you look at it. Priced at about $2300, it is much more expensive than most other 42-inch TVs (such as the JVC LT-42P300, which costs about $900) and doesn't have much better performance. It's also lacking an antenna/cable input, so you'll need to factor in the cost of an external tuner if you don't have a cable box. The unique feature of the LT-42WX70 is the support for the Adobe RGB gamut, and this comes with a significant gotcha in that it doesn't support this entire extended color gamut; it supports 96% and has inaccurate greens. Monitors that support the entire Adobe RGB gamut are available for significantly less; you can expect to pay $1000 and up for a 22-inch model. So, while the LT-42WX70 might appeal to the well-heeled photographer who wants to show off their work, it's just too expensive for most users.
