Conclusion

LG 47LH90

Editorial Note: This is a review of the LG 47LH90. Test results are for this model, but should indicate the general performance of other sizes in the LH90 series. The LH90 series also includes the 42LH90 and the 55LH90.  Read here for more details on series differences. The 47LH90 didn't wow us, but it wasn't terrible either. Most of its scores were either average or on the high side of average. The main issue is it's not a particularly exciting TV. It has a large, thick bezel and its main features are all sort of duds. The localized dimming works just like a regular dimmed backlight, meaning subtle details are getting lost. The 240Hz mode works fine, but we saw nothing to differentiate it from 120Hz TVs.

The TV is also a bit more expensive than we'd like for such a vanilla TV: $2100.
