Good motion processing
A wide viewing angle
Awful color performance
A low peak brightness, and a high black level for a plasma screen
Introduction
Of the plasma screens released by LG this year, the 50PZ550 ($1099 MSRP) falls in the middle of the value range, just behind the xxPZ750 and the xxPZ950 series. The feature set is not too different between the series, you will still have access to internet video and 3D images, but you will be missing the TruBlack Filter and the Ultra-Slim bezel. When we ran the 50PZ550 through our series of tests we saw that the not only were the features different, but the display performance was disimilar to its high-priced brethren as well. Read the review to see how it scored, and at the end we compare it to the the 50PZ950, the LG flagship plasma for 2011.
