Introduction

The 55LHX is a 55-inch LCD HDTV from LG that has a number of interesting features and specs. First, it offers a solution to cable-clutter by instituting a wireless transmission media box that can send an uncompressed 1080p signal to the TV from up to 30 feet away. This means peripheral media devices (such as gaming systems and DVD players) don't have to be directly connected to the television via a bulky collection of cables. It also makes connecting cables an easier process and opens more of an opportunity for mounting the panel on a wall (as cables, other than the power connector, don't need to run to the TV).

As far as image specs are concerned, the 55LHX features a increased 240Hz refresh rate (up from 120Hz on last year's models) and an improved LED backlight system. The television also sports an ultra-slim design and the sides measure at 0.98-inches in depth. The 55LHX is only available in the 55-inch size and it will ship with a provided media box all at one cost (the price has not yet been released). The product will likely be available in late 2009.
