LG Today introduced its lineup of HDTVs at CES 2009 featuring LED backlit displays, Netflix access and 240Hz refresh rates. LED backlights on LCD televisions offer lower power consumption, improved colors and wider viewing angles. LG is moving their entire series of LCD HDTVs to the LED backlights headlined by their LHX (pictured). LG also announced new Plasma televisions.

LG also announced that their full range of Blu-Ray players and select HDTVs will feature network connectivity called Netcast with access to Netflix, Youtube, CinemaNow and Yahoo Widgets. TVs will be connected via ethernet cable. Netflix has been very aggressive in getting their content onto home entertainment devices with LG being one of the first manufacturers to announce a Netflix capable Blu-Ray player last year. Netcast support will also allow in-network streaming to the TV in the home with support for DivX and MKV codecs.

240Hz refresh rates will also be offered on a selection of LG's new HDTVs. Higher refresh rates speed up how quickly the image on the display changes. Faster refresh rates are generally considered to provide better performance with fast moving scenes. Full lineup below.
