Calibration Summary

Editorial Note: This is a review of the Memorex MLT3221. Test results are for this model, but should indicate the general performance of other sizes in the MLT series. The MLT series includes the following models: MLT1921, MLT2221, MLT2621.  Read here for more details on series differences.

• Used User mode.
• 720p content over an HDMI will limit access to settings.
• Calibration done using DisplayMate Software

Calibration

Below is a list of what we changed on the TV, in order to optimize picture quality for our test settings. These settings should be good enough for most users. If you really want the TV to be perfectly calibrated, however, you'll have to pay a professional to customize your settings for your specific viewing environment.

Note: the TV will lock a handful of calibration options with 720p content, if your TV is connected via HDMI. In this mode, you won't have access to sharpness, saturation, or hue. We'd recommend turning the sharpness down to zero if it's available.

Setting Default Calibrated
Picture Mode User
Contrast 56 46
Brightness 48 44
Sharpness (not always available) 4 0
Color Temp. Nature Warm
Noise Reduction Medium Off

Video Modes

The TV has a handful of video modes, but it describe them on the TV or in the manual. The modes are: Vivid, Hi-Bright, Cinema, Sport, and User.
