September 01, 2008New LG plasmas to have 160GB of storage
LGs PG6900 plasma TVs are set to have built-in hard drives with 160GB of memory. This amount of storage combined with the series' 8-day electronic program guide should ensure you never miss an episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Other wonderful features include three HDMI ports, a 30,000:1 contrast ratio, and a 100Hz refresh rate. Expect these TVs soonish, at about $1800 and up.As an aside, most high-end media players are capable of storing 320GB of data or more. Considering DVR is a burgeoning trend and Gigabytes can be crammed by the hundreds into tiny iPods, is there any particular reason we aren't seeing more TVs with big hard drives?
