Introduction

At the bottom of Panasonic’s 2011 line you will find the TC-L32C3 ($399 MSRP). It’s an interesting TV, using in-plane switching technology to achieve a wide viewing angle and solid motion performance in an entry-level set. These two features make it a consideration as a small sports TV, but don’t get too excited. There are significant drawbacks in contrast, color, resolution and other areas that we cover thoroughly throughout the review.

Editorial Note: This is a review of the Panasonic Viera TC-L32C3. Test results are for this model, but should indicate the general performance of other sizes in the TC-LxxC3 series. The TC-LxxC3 series includes the following models: TC-L24C3 and TC-L32C3. Read here for more details on series differences.

Motion

In-plane switching helps this Panasonic ease through our motion tests. A funky native “720p” results in overscan and detail difficulties at every resolution.

Audio & Menus

The menus are too basic to be difficult in any way, and 10W speakers aren’t bad for an entry-level television.

It’s not expensive, but honestly there is no reason it should be using this much power.
