Calibration
Our calibration process is oriented towards providing the most accurate picture. In some cases, such as with the TC-P42X1, calibrating for accuracy results in sacrifices in other areas. In the TC-P42X1's case, we had to turn the contrast way down in order to prevent colors from peaking at relatively low intensity levels. If you want to calibrate your TV to the settings we used, use the below table. Listed are all the settings we altered; if something isn't listed there, the default setting was the optimal one.
The TC-P42X1 only has a handful of video modes: Vivid, Cinema, Game, and Custom. There are no on-TV descriptions of what these modes actually do, unfortunately. |
