Power Consumption (8.72) The TC-P42X1, as a plasma, will have a very inconsistent rate of power consumption. While we were running this test, the amount of power being drawn would jump between about 80 Watts and about 200 Watts, depending on how much white is on the screen. On average, if the brightness and contrast is boosted, providing the maximum possible brightness (which we don't recommend doing: it'll hurt picture quality), the TV will cost users about $25.59 per year. |

• Very inexpensive TV to maintain.
