Panasonic TC-P65VT25

First Impressions Review

Conclusion

Panasonic TC-P65VT25

Panasonic promised to roll out a number of 3D products this year, so the TC-P65VT25 is a fairly expected release. With a number of manufacturers releasing 3D HDTVs this year the TC-P65VT25 appears to have a lot of stiff competition. As a result, it may be the TV's other features—like the Viera Cast options and video call capability—that set the 65VT25 apart from the crowd.

Viewing the TV at CES we felt that the 3D images looked alright, but they were definitely hard on the eyes at times. Not to mention, the 3D glasses weren't something we'd choose to wear if we had the option. Still, the viewing angle looked good and the TV's 2D image quality appeared to be strong. We'll have to wait until we actually get the set into our labs before we make our official judgment, however.

Panasonic hasn't announced pricing info or release dates for the TC-P65VT25 yet, but we expect the TV to go for a hefty sum. It is the company's flagship model, after all, and 3D technology is still very new. This usually translates into inflated prices for those who want to be on the forefront of new technology.
