Conclusion

Proscan 32LC30S60

Editorial Note: This is a review of the Proscan 32LC30S60. Test results are for this model, but should indicate the general performance of other sizes in the xxLC30S60 series. The xxLC30S60 series includes the following models: 32LC30S60 and 37LC30S60.  Read here for more details on series differences. The Proscan 32LC30S60 came up short in a lot of our lab tests. The black levels were mediocre, the shadow detail is practically non-existent, and the motion performance resulted in a lot of judder and artifacting. But how much can you ask of a sub-$400 HDTV? In its favor, the TV looks relatively elegant, it's simple to use, and the remote actually feels sturdy. If you dig through the comparison models in this review, you'll see us favoring the Sony KDL-32L500 and Insignia NA-LDVD32Q-10A, both of which are better performers in the same price class. What we're trying to say here is simple: you can find better TVs even if your wallet is tight, but know that you get what you pay for. All HDTVs were certainly not created equal.
