Tour & DesignIntroduction
| Introduction | ||||
The Samsung LN40B650 sits in the middle of Samsung's lineup of LCD HDTVs. At 40-inchs it's available for a suggested retail price of $1,699.99, but can be found for a couple hundred dollars less if you shop around. The LN40B650 sports a variety of high-end features, including 120Hz refresh rate, two USB ports, internet connectivity and a full 1080p resolution. Still, $1700 is a lot to pay for a 40-inch HDTV, the question is whether the performance justifies the price. Read the review to find out. |

| Page 1 of 16 | Tour & Design | |
||
| Section | The Good | The Bad |
| Tour & Design | Clean and simple lines. | Some don't like the red finish. |
| Blacks & Whites | Very deep blacks, bright whites and excellent contrast ratio. | Greyscale gamma curve too agressive. |
| Color Accuracy | Reds, greens and blues are very accurate. | Color gamut shows significant errors with blues. |
| Motion | Limited motion blur. | Significant problems with artifacts. |
| Viewing Effects | Not much. | Poor viewing angle and very reflective display. |
| Remote Control | Well-balanced and nice backlight. | A bit too long. |
| Audio | Not much. | Poor audio quality from built-in speakers. |
| Connectivity | Good selection of ports and well-placed. | Not much. |
| Menus & Interface | Easy to navigate and attractive menus. | The USB manual is a poor substitute for a paper one. |
| Formats & Media | Photo, video and music playback. | Limited support for photo and music formats. |
| Power Consumption | Above average power consumption. | Not much. |

Samsung UN32D5500 LED LCD HDTV Review
The D5500 has a rather high MSRP of $699, considering it’s only a 32-inch TV. There are some “premiums upgrades,” a term we use with some dubiousness, knowing that these features can be far less valuable than they appear. Nevertheless, at its core this is a good television. If you can find it a significantly reduced price it would make a great addition to a home theater. Read More...
