Strong contrast ratio
Solid color performance
Lacks detail in black and white values
Not much added to a cheaper Samsung model
Introduction
With the LN40D630 ($799 MSRP), what you see is what you get: no internet features, no 3D imaging, just a display with some connectivity in the back, one that happens to be quite good. This may be exactly what some consumers have been searching for, but could not find amongst 2011’s flood of high-priced, high-powered, all-inclusive televisions. We saw some great numbers in our testing with this Samsung and we would confidently recommend it to a certain type of consumer.
