Conclusion

Samsung LN46B750

The Samsung LN46B750 is a 46-inch 1080p HDTV with some nice media features, online capabilities, and above average test results. All in all, the LN46B750 is a good set, but the asking price of $2400 is higher than it should be.

The
LN46B750 only did poorly on the color gamut test. Elsewhere we saw some scores that were lower than competing models, but still above average. It scored poorly in some areas due to its dynamic backlighting, which dimmed the screen during dark scenes. This lead to colors artifically dropping off before they should have and resulted in a lower contrast ratio than we would've expected. Also, although it has online connectivity, there isn't an impressive amount of content available yet.

Despite its faults, however, the
LN46B750 did well enough to merit consideration, providing you have the budget for it.

If you are on a budget, you could size down to the LN40B650, which is a 40-inch LCD also by Samsung. You'll take a hit in video quality and online capabilities, but it's much more affordable. If you want more online features, the Sony KDL-46Z5100 is a good pick. It's a bit more expensive, but had slightly better video quality and the sheer volume of online content is offers is impressive.
