The flagship of Samsung's new Luxia brand, the UN55B8000 is the flagship model in Samsung's new Series 8 8000 series of LED TVs. It's a big stylish TV that boasts a number of new features. foremost among this is the new LED backlight technology, which replaces the Cold Cathode Florescent (CCFL) lights used on most LCD HDTVs with an array of small LED lights. And our first look at this new model at the CES show in Las Vegas looks promising; the TV looks to be a very stylish, slim model that would look awesome on any high flyer's wall.

It's not clear yet how many high flyers would be able to afford it; Samsung has not revealed any pricing details, and they declined to comment when asked about even an approximate price point, so it's probably safe to assume that it's not going to be cheap. The Series 8 8000 models will be available in the first half of 2008 in 46 and 55-inch sizes.
