Sharp Aquos LC-80LE844U
By Mark Brezinski January 9, 2012
Sharp Aquos LC-80LE844U
Review Highlights

A new UI, complete with an internet browser and app support.

Aquos Advantage Live let’s a Sharp rep fiddle around with your TV settings.

It is quite large!

Despite the software improvements, it’s still a pretty vanilla TV.

Introduction

Are you mortified by the embarrassingly small 55-inch TV in your living room? If so, Sharp has the cure for what ails you: an 80-inch TV. This year Sharp is focusing on big TVs for the consumer market: they built a mile-long factory, with the singular purpose of producing televisions sized 60" or larger.

The Sharp Aquos LC-80LE844U is one of the first TVs produced out of this initiative, and we have to agree: this TV is quite big. In addition to the large screen size, Sharp has also implemented a new troubleshooting system that allows users to connect directly with a Sharp representative who can control the TV remotely. There’s also an updated UI with a browser.

The LC-80LE844U has an MSRP of $6,499 and should be available in March.
