Introduction
Introduction |

The Sony Bravia KDL-52V5100 is one of their newest LCD televisions. At 52-inches in size and costing $2,299 it won't be an impulse purchase for anyone, but if you're looking for a large HDTV you could do a lot worse than the KDL-52V5100. That's not to say it doesn't have its drawbacks, the price is at the higher-end of the scale and we found some performance problems. Read the review to find out exactly what we think of the Sony Bravia KDL-52V5100. |

| Section | The Good | The Bad |
| Tour & Design | Simple, attractive design. | No HDMI cable included. |
| Blacks & Whites | Excellent black level and contrast ratio. | Problems with uniformity in dark conditions. |
| Color Accuracy | Rock solid color temperature. | Innacuracies in the color gamut. |
| Motion | Decent motion smoothness. | Significant problems with artifacts and 3:2 pulldown. |
| Viewing Effects | Viewing angle could be worse. | Very reflective display can be distracting. |
| Remote Control | Comfortable to hold. | Buttons are poorly laid out. |
| Audio | Very good audio quality from the built-in speakers. | You'll still nead real surround sound speakers to get that effect. |
| Connectivity | Excellent selection of ports and well placed. | No internet connectivity or DVI port. |
| Menus & Interface | Easy to read and logically laid out menus. | Could use better on-screen help to explain some menu items. |
| Formats & Media | Full 1080p resolution. | Photo and music playback is poorly designed. |
| Power Consumption | Not much. | Below average annual power costs. |

Samsung UN32D5500 LED LCD HDTV Review
The D5500 has a rather high MSRP of $699, considering it’s only a 32-inch TV. There are some “premiums upgrades,” a term we use with some dubiousness, knowing that these features can be far less valuable than they appear. Nevertheless, at its core this is a good television. If you can find it a significantly reduced price it would make a great addition to a home theater. Read More...
