Introduction

The Sony Bravia KDL-55HX820 is a high-end 3D LCD TV with a price tag to boot, but is it worth it? It has all the streaming features you could ever want in the year 2011, but who knows what the future holds; today’s Qriocity might be tomorrow’s Even-More-Stupidly-Named-Service. This internet-loving TV is not necessarily our favorite Sony from this year, however, and lacks the watchable 3D performance of a second-gen plasma. We detail its strengths and weaknesses, while also pondering other options.

Editorial Note: This is a review of the Sony Bravia KDL-55HX820. Test results are for this model, but should indicate the general performance of other sizes in the KDL-xxHX820 series. The KDL-xxHX820 series includes the following models: KDL-46HX820 and KDL-55HX820. Read here for more details on series differences.
