Sony Bravia XBR-52HX909

First Impressions Review

Conclusion

Sony Bravia XBR-52HX909

The Bravia XBR-52HX900 has the potential to be a stylish, flashy HDTV that could be the highlight of your living room: we liked the design, with a new approach to the stand and a clean, smart look.

We were not able to test performance on the prototype model we looked at at this show, but the signs did look to be good: the demo unit had bright, sharp color and a good contrast ratio. The big question mark is price: Sony declined to give us a price or commit to an availability date more specific than 'summer.' The performance and price of the 3D features is also unknown: the demos that Sony were showing with other models had a few issues, and they have not yet set a price for the required transmitter and 3D glasses.
