Great contrast ratio and deep black levels
Smooth color response curves
It looks and feels like a cheap TV
Terrible audio performance from built-in speakers
Introduction
The Toshiba 40E210U ($599 MSRP) is the entry-level model in Toshiba’s 40-49" line-up of LCDs. It certainly feels entry-level. The parts and the menu look cheap. The remote control doesn’t work all that well. The performance, however, raises its profile a little to the point where it’s worth considering.
