The Vizio SV422XVT is a 42-inch LCD HDTV in their premium XVT range of displays. It's also the first TV from Vizio to include support for Widgets, small programs that run on the display and grab information from the Internet, including Twitter posts, finance news and Flickr photos. Vizio refers to this as Vizio Internet Applications (VIA), but the technology is from Yahoo, and has already been seen on a number of HDTVs. While widgets aren't new, the remote that comes with the SV422XVT is, and the Bluetooth-connected remote includes a small QWERTY keyboard that makes entering text much easier than a conventional remote. The SV422XVT will be available in November for a list price of $1199, or probably about $1000 on the street. |

Samsung UN32D5500 LED LCD HDTV Review
The D5500 has a rather high MSRP of $699, considering it’s only a 32-inch TV. There are some “premiums upgrades,” a term we use with some dubiousness, knowing that these features can be far less valuable than they appear. Nevertheless, at its core this is a good television. If you can find it a significantly reduced price it would make a great addition to a home theater. Read More...
