Conclusion
The SV471XVT is a minor upgrade from the SV470XVT in many ways; the performance is similar and the feature set is very close. The only minor changes are a slightly brighter screen, an increase in the refresh rate to 240Hz and the addition of a USB port that can be used to play back photos, videos and music from USB thumb drives. Otherwise, performance is very close to last year's SV470XVT.

This is a case where no change is a good thing, though; the SV471XVT provides great value for money. It's not the top performer (especially with the  high black level, which gives images a  muddy look), but it performs very well overall and is significantly cheaper than most other displays. If you are looking for a big HDTV without the big price, the SV471XVT is an excellent choice.
