VIZIO VW32L

HDTV Review

Conclusion

The Vizio VW32L (approx. $389) is a simple television with simple ambitions. It doesn’t do much other than play back video, and it doesn’t do that outstandingly well. But it gets the job done, and it won’t cost you much.

The black level performance is pretty bad, and will never come close to matching more expensive LCD TVs, not to mention plasmas. The contrast ratio scores were also quite poor. On the plus side, the color performance was better than quite a few TVs we’ve seen in this price range.

There are no bells and whistles on the VW32L. There’s no special media playback features like card slots or USB ports, and there’s certainly no internet connectivity. The overall aesthetic is boxy and thick, and the port are nigh but inaccessible. But at this price, you could do worse.
